Charleston Bus Annex

In 2008, Tully Construction was awarded the design and construction of the Charleston Bus Annex, a 23 month contract. This fast track project is being built an 11 acre site on the south end of Staten Island on Arthur Kill Road. Tully Construction and design partner, PB Americas, has teamed together to create a cost efficient design that meets the MTA requirements. The project includes a 2 story building, an elevated parking lot and an extensive amount of site and architectural work.
The site provides parking for 188 City Buses. Extensive excavation and underground work for the installation of sanitary and storm drainage systems; underground electric, communication and lighting systems; water and fire lines, gas service for underground tanks for fuel, antifreeze, automatic transmission fluid, window washer fluid, storm water reclamation, and oil/ water separators. The 2 story pre-engineered building will house offices, lockers, lunch rooms and conference rooms on the second floor. The first floor will provide 16 bus maintenance bays in the back of the building and a 2 lane bus wash system which utilizes storm water run off or well water. The building is constructed of metal panel siding, a masonry bottom and a flat roof with translucent panels across the east elevation adding light and an open air environment to the 2nd floor, maintaining a high R- value for energy conservation.
Tully Construction and our subcontractors are working as a team to ensure all project requirements are met on schedule and in a safe manner. Tully Construction broke ground in March 2008 and is on target to meet the completion date of December 30, 2009, maintaining our place as one of New York City’s premier general contractors.
