Cliffside Landfill

Thalle Construction built a fly ash landfill for the new coal-fired power plant at Cliffside Steam Station in North Carolina. Thalle was also contracted to expand the power plant’s rail facilities and various other erosion control improvements in the area.

Scope of work included:
Construction of a 23-acre Phase 1 CCP landfill including approximately 474,000 cubic yards of earthwork, a geosynthetics liner system, leachate collection and conveyance system, leachate basin, leachate force main, site access roads, perimeter fencing, erosion control features, storm water management systems, site electrical and final grassing and seeding.

The Cliffside Landfill project was completed in May of 2010.
